together, yet fully myself
Welcome back to the Cosmic Cafe. This is a space to explore the psychological patterns that shape our inner world and the larger world around us, empowering us to make better decisions that protect our sovereignty and support us in reaching our potential.
So we are currently in the season of Aquarius, and Aquarius symbolizes our need for innovation, especially as it concerns society. Aquarius is ruled by the planet Uranus, and wherever Uranus was in the sky at the moment you were born shapes how you uniquely strive to meet this need.
Now everyone is different, but what does unite us and makes us the same is that we all have a need to think outside the box and to do so in service to the collective. It's a tricky need to meet, however, because it calls for us to be unique individuals while also remaining part of a group.
There's a real tension here because often the group asks us to assimilate, but to meet our Aquarius need, we resist that pull towards assimilation and instead contribute through innovation.
So you know that feeling when you want to be part of something, but only on your own terms. That's what we're talking about.
This is the heartbeat of Aquarius. There's a pull in us to gather, to connect, to innovate, to share ideas, to create change, and yet there's an equally strong pull to stay untamed, to not melt into the crowd, and to keep our spark distinct.
So we want to unite, but we don't want to lose ourselves.
So in my own experience, choosing my uniqueness has often left me isolated.
The tribes I was born into leaned heavily towards conformity rather than innovation, and I tried to awaken those tribes, because they mattered to me, but they were not budging. And in hindsight, I realized it wasn't my role to try to change anyone.
Instead, I focus on creating my own communities. By staying aligned with myself and leaving the old tribes behind, I am unintentionally encouraging evolution anyways.
So, what does that look like in practice? It means building spaces, whether a learning platform or a community cause where people can come together, connect and grow while still remaining fully themselves.
Where the collective thrives, not by demanding sameness, but by celebrating difference.
Where belonging isn't about losing identity, but amplifying it.
One way that I think about it in my head is I think, you don't have to fit in to belong.
And that's been really helpful for me because my need to belong to groups is so important.
But I'm my own unique individual and I can't help it. I have my own unique perspective, and so I don't fit in.
And so that's been a tension in my own life. I have, if you know astrology, I have my moon conjunct Uranus.
And so that's like a really strong theme in my life. Moon being my home, my people, my roots, and Uranus being change, innovation, thinking outside the box. I have both a moon, which is Cancer, need as well as a Uranus—Aquarius. When I say that, I mean the moon rules Cancer and Uranus rules Aquarius. And so in astrology, you have the sign, which symbolizes the need (so like Cancer and Aquarius) and then the planet is the psychological function — it's the part of you that can act and do something to get that need met.
So that was a little side note.
But I have a moon Uranus conjunction. So those two needs in my life are fighting to get met together because they're side by side. Moving on. :)
So that tension between gathering and staying untamed isn't something to solve, but rather something to embrace. It's the dance of Aquarius “together, but untamed”. And if we can hold that space for ourselves, perhaps we can hold it for others too.
Another example would be in planning your outfits, let's just say, the clothes you wear.
There's often multiple things you want to express at once. You might want to express elegance. You might want to express playfulness. You might want to express athleticism. Or I mean, there's lots of vibes you can embody.
You might want to express something retro or countercultural. And when you want to express those all at the same time, you have to find a way to create an outfit that fits all those needs.
And so it's similar in designing your life. You have certain things you want to express and you have to find ways to get those needs met. It's a puzzle. It's an ongoing life puzzle.
And that is what The Cosmic Café is about. Because the more you can understand the puzzle pieces and see them for what they are, the more you're conscious of them and you're going to be able to put that puzzle together faster, more efficiently, and hopefully it'll be more fun as well.
So, may we all embrace our unique vision for whatever causes (that's an Aquarius word) we hold close to our hearts.
For in doing so, we are meeting our Aquarius need.
May we endure and hold our post as the world slowly awakes out of the old and into the new.
Your vision matters.
This completes our second memo in the Cosmic Café.
May this insight make your life a little more bright and a little more clear. Till next time.
